Preview+ Press Release, April 2006
Nesbit Systems Inc. announces Preview+ - providing video proxy viewing capabilities to the Nesbit Media Library System.
New York - April 3
With Preview+, Nesbit Systems has extended its popular, industry standard, Media Library System (MLS) by adding video proxy files to the information managed by MLS. The proxy files (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, Windows Media 9 or MPEG-4 format) provide frame accurate representation of digital content. MLS has integrated proxy ingest, browse, playback and rough cut editing into its existing rich feature set. "Our customers want to view low-resolution video within the Media Library System environment. Preview+ provides exactly that. Now, using MLS, a user can browse video by clicking on an icon associated with log or clip metadata. Users can also log while viewing the video and create new content by invoking the new EDL functions.""The industry needs broader support systems for media assets. Now, whether those assets are a digital file, a tape or a dvd, they can be managed and tracked within MLS. With Preview+ we have added powerful management capabilities for digital files, and have integrated it into the rich functions of MLS" Irene Nesbit, President, NSi.
Nesbit Systems worked with Media Strategy Partners, LLC, (MSP) to define the requirements of video tape libraries as they transition from physical tape based environments to environments of digital file based content. The findings were used to design the functions and user interfaces of Preview+. IPV Limited's industry standard SpectreView technology was selected for proxy encoding and manipulation.
